The Seekers
Can we remember the many years as a seeker,
When we were still so unsure of what we seek.
Can we ask questions of monumental importance,
When there were no answers that satisfied us.
Can we strive to live our lives with true honor,
When the world is ruled by dishonorable men.
Can we offer our total love to another forever,
When all around us many lives are separating.
Can we guide these children to whom we gave life,
As we remain lost and misguided within ourselves.
Can we touch our fellow man’s heart and soul,
When with our other hand we strike him down.
Can virtue overcome the dark evil clouds above,
When we crave the indulgence of our own needs.
Can there be a path we can follow to find truth,
When our lies fall so easily from our twisted lips.
Can I close my eyes one day to just seek a rest,
When I can then awake to see a bright new light.
Can I choose to follow this glowing light to peace,
When the darkness still remains the path of choice.
Can I find the will to follow new found convictions,
When all those around me lay stones in my path.
Yes; I can fulfill my destiny as I choose to change,
For I have been given the free will to make a choice.
The new road before me may be very treacherous,
That my inner fear attempts to make me turn back.
But in my heart I know and will seek the true path,
And it will surely lead me into my eternal salvation.
So walk with me and hold onto my hand my friends,
For I swear I will never forsake you now or for evermore.
